The Chair of
Atuqtuarvik Corporation, John M. Hickes,
has announced the approval of a loan and
equity financing by Atuqtuarvik Corporation
to Inuit Construction & Maintenance
Ltd. of Arviat, Nunavut.
“We are
pleased to provide Inuit Construction & Maintenance
Ltd. with a loan and equity financing to
assist them in the development of housing
units for Arviat. The population of Arviat
has increased 21% (1996 to 2001 – 2001
Census) and its’ need for housing
is great”.

greatly assisted Inuit Construction & Maintenance
Ltd. to build two residential 5-plexes in
the Hamlet of Arviat. We have been successful
in securing a 20-year lease arrangement
with the Nunavut Housing Corporation and
this Inuit-owned property will be used to
meet their housing needs”.
